Semi-finals at Matavera and Victoria Park

In the Rarotonga football knock-out competition the premier mens teams of Takuvaine, Titikaveka, Tupapa and Nikao Sokattak will take part in the semi-final football games today at the two venues, Matavera School grounds and at Victoria Park.

Nikao Sokattak will go head to head with Titikaveka who ended Arorangis hopes of proceeding to the semi-finals. Sokattak who defeated a determined Matavera team in a penalty shootout is no doubt the favourite to overcome Titikaveka at Victoria Park.

Takuvaine confidently progressed through to todays semi-finals after defeating Avatiu by three goals to one in a thrilling match at the Matavera School grounds last Friday.

Today, Takuvaine will take on round cup champions Tupapa who will no doubt have to work hard in order to win against the in-form physical Takuvaine side.

Although Takuvaine had a slow start to the season, they managed to win three of their last round cup games to achieve third placing on the points table.

In the senior womens semi-final matches, round cup champions Tupapa will face Nikao Sokattak who beat Takuvaine in a penalty shootout by four goals to three and book their place in todays semi-final games.

Arorangi will take on Titikaveka at Victoria Park.

Arorangi demolished Matavera in the first round eliminations by 11 goals to nil while Titikaveka kicked to victory over Avatiu by two goals to nil.

Todays semi-final matches will kick start at 1.00pm with the under 14 girls category followed by the under 14 boys.
