Monday nights have been confirmed as the regular evening for badminton meets and games.

At the first meeting to discuss forming a badminton association on Friday, it was decided that due to the popularity of the sport among locals, especially male youths, a regular weekly meet would be the best way forward for the sport.

Games will be played at the Princess Anne Hall at Tereora College from 6pm onwards and all attending must pay the small $2 fee to help pay for the rental of the building.

Kids attending primary school will only have to pay $1.

As people put their hands up to help develop the sport on the island and form an executive board and constitution, regular tournaments and development programmes will be rolled out to help grow the sport again on the island after a 30-year absence from the local sporting scene.

If you are keen to try out the sport, go along to the Princess Anne Hall with comfortable sports gear, water bottle and your $2 entry.
