Cook Islands Cricket CEO Alister Stevic is excited about the prospects of Cook Islands Cricket’s new-found friendship with India’s High Commissioner to the Cook Islands Vinod Kumar.

Kumar, a cricket enthusiast, met with Stevic late last week in preliminary discussions on how the high commissioner’s office may be able to support the development of cricket in the Cook Islands.

Stevic says that while any announcement on how that support may take shape would be premature, he can confirm there has been a commitment and was encouraged by Kumar’s interest in the development of cricket in the Cook Islands especially amongst its youth.

”Establishing relationships with cricket loving organisations is a key tool for us in being able to provide opportunities that continually develop and advance cricket in the Cook Islands.

”No one does it better than India and we are very excited about the high commissioner’s support and the opportunity that our friendship may bring in fostering a close relationship with the board of control for cricket in India,“ says Stevic.
