WELLINGTON, Feb 3 – The Auckland round of this year’s triathlon World Cup circuit has been confirmed for November 20.

The International Triathlon Union (ITU) announced the date for the event which is to be used as a dress rehearsal for the world championship grand final on the same course in 2012.

New Zealand has hosted seven legs of previous World Cup circuits, most recently in 2008 at New Plymouth.

Tri NZ chief executive Dave Beeche said the round’s confirmation and inclusion in the ITU calendar took the event to a new level, and his organisation now had a date to plan for and plenty to organise.
