Cook Islands junior golf protges Teariki Smith (16) and Tony Turua (17), pictured below, swapped their golf clubs for rugby boots to represent their school King’s College on the rugby field.

King’s College teams play in the Auckland Secondary Schools championships which has its finals in two weeks time.

Both Smith and Turua also play golf for King’s College and belong to the Grange Golf Club in Auckland where they play in age grade golf championships representing the Cook Islands.

They are both members of the Rarotonga Golf Club and can be found on the Nikao greens when they return home during school holidays.

Other Cook Islands students at the school include Teariki Nicholas (17) who plays at number 8 for the school’s first 15 rugby team along with Kahu Ingaram (17) who plays at second five-eight.
