The match was evenly contested throughout the entire game by both sides.

Avatiu captain Ngatakorua Elikana commended Arorangi for a tough match against his team and looks toward their next opponent Tupapa.

”First game of the 2012 football season is always a tough one and Arorangi made us work hard for our two goals,“ says Elikana.

”Now it’s back to the drawing board and organise ourselves for our second game.“

In the CIPS Image & Copy Centre senior women’s game Avatiu’s speedster Teiti Tupuna nodded in two runaway goals in the first half for her team while Arorangi’s Linade Unuka efforts saw her corner kick head straight to the back of the net bringing the score to two goals to one.
