Today will be a ripper day for Rarotonga primary schools taking part in the CI News Rippa Rugby tournament hosted by Rutaki School and to be run at Raemaru Park.

Over 600 boys and girls, aged between seven and 13, will make up 49 mixed teams of 14 players to contest today’s tournament. It should be a fun-filled day for all.

The philosophy of the Rippa Rugby tournament is ‘participation’ and not competition. All children are encouraged to play, be active and most of all to have fun.

The programme will start with the formalities at 8.15amwith the first game kicking off at 8.40am.

Be sure to be at the Arorangi Field for a fun-filled day with our primary school children.

Host school Rutaki will also be using today’s event as a fundraiser and there will be plenty of food and drink for sale, so please come and watch our children play. It presents a perfect opportunity for some lunchtime enjoyment at the field.

Meitaki maata again to event sponsor Cook Islands News.
