Sports minister Mark Brown is set to travel to the Pacific Games Council meeting to be held in Wallis and Futuna next month.
The announcement was made by CISNOC president Hugh Graham, who will also attend the meeting.
Brown will attend the meeting as chairman of the Pacific Mini Games 2009, while Graham will be present at the meeting as the president of the national sporting body.
Graham said there was a special agenda note for the financial records of the 2009 Pacific Mini Games to be presented by Brown.
“The previous board had agreed for the Minister of Sport to travel to the Pacific Games Council meeting to be held in Wallis and Futuna in the middle of October,” Graham said.
“There was some discussion on that and the executive board have agreed that the minister should go in his role as the chairman of the Pacific Mini Games 2009 company that was set up by the government to produce the financials of the 2009 games.”
The Games Council pays the return airfares of one representative while the person travelling would have to find accommodation at their own expense.
“I’ve agreed to use the return ticket. I’ll meet costs of my own accommodation outside of CISNOC,” Graham confirmed.
The president said he would be meeting up with Brown in Auckland on October 17 ahead of their flight to Noumea and the subsequent trip to Wallis and Futuna.
The meeting finishes on October 20.
