Matavera face tough ask

COMPUTERMAN and Edgewater Cricket matches may have been rained out last weekend, but that didn’t stop the Arorangi Club from having a fun match between their men’s and women’s teams.

Arorangi will be wearing their more conservative uniform this Saturday as they play host to both the Avana Women’s and Avana Men’s sides.

Without a win in the competition, Pae Kirikava’s Davana side get a boost this weekend with the return of some of his top players.

Matavera have a tough ask this weekend against a Tupapa side packed with T20 specialists. Toara ‘The Tank’ Teinaki’s Wale boys are in devastating form and will want a big win to extend their lead on top of the Computer Man table.

The Muri Creeps are close behind in second and a big win for them over last placed opponents Turangi could see Tupapa knocked off the top.

Lacynthia Rani will be hoping for a turnaround for her Muri women team mates as they try to record their first win of the season against last placed Turangi.

The under 19 national development side take on the in-form lads from Tupapa 2. The Wale boys haven’t lost a game this season and are looking like real title contenders.

Last season’s Computer Man champions, the Titikaveka Titans head to the valley to take on Takuvaine.

Both teams are sitting at one win one loss and will need the win to force ahead of a highly congested mid-table. Avatiu Nikao has the bye.

Cooks cricket umpire appointments see Wayne Ralph and Colin Russell officiating in the Turangi vs Muri match. Guy Savage has the match between the Titans and Takuvaine.

Brendon Fiebig is doing the double, officiating in both of the Arorangi vs Avana match ups.
