The Cook Islands under 16 men’s development football squad lost their final match 4-1 against Charlestown City on Thursday evening in the 2012 Gold Coast Champions Cup tournament in Australia.

As a result of their last match against Charlestown City, the Cooks’ development side have missed out in progressing through to the semi finals in the tournament. The competition started on Saturday September 22 with the finals being played today between Givova FC and Gold Coast FC.

The under 16 men’s development squad played four matches in the group stages, finishing with one win and three losses.

During the tournament they played Mudgeeraba SC, Ranger, Brisbane Force and the last match against Charlestown City.

The team has been in good spirits throughout the tournament and has gained some experience playing against their peers from within Australia.

The team is scheduled to return tonight at midnight.
