More football action will take place today with some intriguing match-ups for fans to enjoy at two venues – at the swamp between Avatiu and Takuvaine and at Victoria Park between host Tupapa-Maraerenga and Arorangi.

The first game kicks off at 1pm in the under 14 girls division.

The feature game will be between Avatiu and Takuvaine, while the other match should prove just as entertaining as Arorangi face Tupapa.

Much of the attention today will centre on Avatiu’s field, where a compelling-looking Avatiu attack will try to breach Takuvaine’s defence.

The Takuvaine side is not short of skill themselves and today’s game could showcase that with Afato Ioane and his defenders holding their defence to prevent their opposition from scoring.

The other Lotto premier men’s match will see Tupapa take on Arorangi at Victoria Park in Tupapa.

In the CIPS Image & Copy Centre women’s championship game, Avatiu will take on Takuvaine and no doubt both sides are looking to win today’s game after a disappointing match last weekend.

Both sides will need to ‘up’ their performances to improve their standings on the points table.

Hosts Tupapa Maraerenga will face Arorangi, who is currently sitting at the top of the points table, and Arorangi will be looking to put Tupapa away with a win.
