Te Tupu O Te Manava Canoe Club will host today’s oe vaka race from Avarua harbour.

Today’s race will be over a 21km course for both singles paddlers and mixed crews of three men and three women.

Race registrations open at 12.30pm for a race start at 1 o’clock.

Paddlers are reminded of club affiliation fees as well as today’s race fee of $2 for under 19 paddlers and $5 for everyone else.

Oe vaka supporters can catch all of today’s paddling action from Trader Jacks and Avarua harbour.

For anyone interested in taking up the sport of oe vaka – today is a fantastic opportunity for you to meet with the local paddlers who are keen to share the sport they love with newcomers.

If you arrive early, you may be lucky enough to join a novice crew and have a go.
