Today is grand finals time for junior rugby players in the CITC pre season 10s tournament.

All games today will be played at Raemaru Park in Arorangi kicking off at 11.30am with the mixed rippa under 10 games.

This will be followed by the rugby 10s tournament scheduled to start at 12.30pm.

Each game will be played over two 20 minute halves and in the event of a draw – the two-minute golden point extra time will apply.

Last week exciting age grade games were played and more of the same hot rugby action is expected at Raemaru Park today.

Players to watch for in the under grade include strong-running prop ‘Doom’ Ponini of the monster Eels and electric inside back James Strickland of the Cowboys.

In the under 16 grade – fleet-footed Eels winger Christian Toa and big Cowboys lock William Boller are the players to watch for.

The Titikaveka Bulls twin pairing of line-breaking prop Fortes Williams and speedy halfback Mana Ngaau are the players to keep a keen eye on and in the Cowboys crew – watch for workaholic forward Daniel Tonorio.

Each game will begin with a minute’s silence out of respect for families laying to rest loved ones this weekend.
