Battle begins for finals rugby

Catch up mode will be on the minds of the Titikaveka Bulls and Takuvaine Reds senior A team when they play their postponed weekend match today at the BCI Stadium kicking off at 4.30pm.

While the two clubs play out their last round of games – the rest of the clubs are preparing for the first weekend of grand finals rugby to be played at Ngatangiia field for first and second place team and at Tupapa field for third and fourth placed teams.

The first weekend of semi final rugby will kick off on Friday at Tupapa field when the Bulls and Reds under 16 team go head to head at 4.30pm followed by the women’s 10s match between Takitumu and Puaikura.

In the senior A grade division – the top ranked Dragons will face the ever threatening Arorangi Cowboys while the third placed Panthers will face off against the fourth placed Eels.

The winner of the Dragons and Cowboys match will go straight to the grand finals andthe loser will play the winner of the Panthers and Eels match with the loser of that game to hang up their boots for the season.

In the senior B division – top ranked Eels will face the Dragons.

In other first and second placed semi finals – the Cowboys will face the Panthers in both the under 19 and under 16 match while the Cowboys will face the Eels in the under 13 semi final.

At Tupapa for the third and fourth placed semi final – the Panthers and Dragons under 13 team will square off first at noon before the Bulls and Eels under 19 game at 2.30pm before the senior A grade game between the Panthers and Eels.

Exciting times are ahead as clubs battle for spots in the grand finals.
