Northern Districts Cricket coach Pat Malcon will be delivering a revamped New Zealand Cricket level 2 coaching course this week.

Malcon says he has worked with New Zealand Cricket to develop a level 2 coaching course specific to the conditions and objectives of cricket in the Cooks.

The course pays significant attention to Twenty-20 cricket and is designed with players in mind.

“It’s a small place, not everyone wants to become an international coach so I have ensured that players get maximum benefit from the course – it is 100 percent certain to improve players’ performances,” says Malcon.

The New Zealand Cricket Level 2 course will be held over two evenings, Wednesday and Friday this week, from 5 to 7pm at the Tereora College Tennis courts or the Telecom Sports Arena if it rains.

The courses are free, participants do not need to register, just come on time, prepared. Wednesday’s session will encompass NZC Level l course material for participants wanting to progress to Friday night’s course to receive their level 2 certificate.

Those already holding a level 1 certificate and wanting to achieve their level 2 certificate are required to attend both sessions. For more information contact Alister Stevic on 55740.
