The club rugby season might be over but there won’t be much rest for local players as the attention now turns to the club sevens season with four weeks of games building up to the International Sevens Tournament in early November.

The sevens season will kick off for both men and women on Saturday October 6 at the Arorangi field.

Meanwhile there will be a meeting on Tuesday at 5pm at the CISNOC office for all rugby clubs on the island.

The meeting will be a ‘review forum’ where clubs can have their say on the 2012 season and set plans to make things runner smoother for next season.

In terms of junior development – the Rarotonga contingent of 14 players and two coaches of the Cook Islands under 19 squad will travel to New Zealand on Saturday for a four-match tour.

The local team will play against top under 18 and under 19 teams in New Zealand under the guidance of coaches Wally Tangata and Robert Heather.
