Locally-based bodybuilding athletes Oki Enoka and Eddie Brogan will go through their competition routine tonight as part of their final preparations for the South Pacific Bodybuilding Championships.
The championships will be held in Tonga on Thursday 24 and Friday 25 October and will include a team of four athletes from the Cook Islands. Joining Brogan and Enoka will be Enoka’s brother and current Mr Cook Islands Aaron Enoka and equally experienced body builder Dean Teiho.
The Enoka brothers and Teiho are the three bodybuilding athletes that have flown the Cook Islands flag in recent years including the South Pacific Games in New Caledonia in 2011.
For the experienced Oki Enoka, this will be a time to polish up his routine for the stage while Brogan will make his debut on the bodybuilding stage tonight.
Tonight’s fundraiser is in aid of the team’s South Pacific Championship campaign and the sports family at large is being encouraged to support the four man team.
Tickets are on sale for tonight’s fundraiser and include a $35 ticket for a meal and show which will include Enoka and Brogan strutting their stuff as well as a top dance show by the Korero Maori cultural team and performances by female dance champion Mere Taio and ‘Mr Lavalava’ Petero Teio.
For the show only – tickets are just $10.
