Warm up haka

The Cook Islands league team are resting up after a thumping from their Kiwi neighbours 50-0 in the two teams only warm up game before the Rugby League World Cup kicks off on October 26.

The Cooks opened up their encounter against the physically bigger and seasoned Kiwi campaigners with a spine tingling haka. The haka was responded to by the Kiwi team who unveiled a new ‘Kiwi iwi’ haka especially written for the World Cup.The Cooks will begin their first match of the world cup with another powerful haka when they face their first pool opponents Wales. The haka against the Kiwis was led by Tinirau Arona who also won the man of the match award for the Cook Islands squad.
