Avatiu and Puaikura set sights on win

The main Lotto Premiership match today will take place at the at the infamous Avatiu Swamp between host Avatiu and Puaikura scheduled to kick off at 4pm.

Avatiu will need to boost their performance against Puaikura and should be in a confident mood given that they will be playing on their home ground.

Avatiu have had a disappointing 2012 season finishing sixth and a return with a win today will be deemed acceptable by their club. It will be obvious in the Avatiu camp the vocal encouragement from team player Tahiri Elikana who will direct his team to hopefully a favourable result.

A strong contest from Puaikura is believed to be in store during today’s Lotto Premiership as they have delivered an exceptional and favourable performance in their last three matches. However, with the absence of influential and danger man Tuka Tisam, Puaikura will no doubt lean on the experience of Anoanga Tisam if they are to add another win to their tally.

Victory for Puaikura or Avatiu would hand them the chance to level with other winners from this week’s football game.

In the senior women’s championship Puaikura and Avatiu will certainly look for a win in their scheduled match at 2.30pm. Puaikura and Avatiu will no doubt field their best team today if they wish to do well for the rest of the competition.

The other football games will take place at the Titikaveka field between host Titikaveka and Takuvaine.

Starting off today’s football matches at both venues, Avatiu swamp and Titikaveka field will be the under 14 girls division kicking off at 1pm followed by the under 14 boys.
