Fighting for the top honours were GAT and Germinators. Both teams boasting speed and skillful touch players.
The first few sets of six saw both teams testing each other’s drives and defence on the five metres but it was GAT's Juwann Terekia that got on the outside of his marker to cross the try line first to get the first points on the board.
The first half of the game was played at speed with both teams attacking and defending well but Germinators were unable to get through the GAT defence. GAT went into the second half in the lead but the Andy Kapi-led Germinators clawed their way back into the game.
However despite their gallant efforts, the GAT’s lead and control of the game was out of reach.
GAT won the showdown seven tries to Germinators’ three.
“I think the warm up preparation from GAT prior to the game paid off. Congratulations to both teams on an awesome season and to the youthful Team ATT coming in at third place,” said Daphne Brown, the president of the Cook Islands Touch Association.
