Mixed touch comp set for final

The Bluesky Mixed Touch Competition is set for a fiery end this afternoon at Nikao Field.

After an intense battle in the weekly competition, ICI Transformers and Foodland have made it through to the final for the main title.

The two teams will take each other on at 6pm after the Team Transport versus Mangaia match at 5pm and the NukzPower versus 007 match at 5.30pm.

Cook Islands Touch president Daphne Brown said they were set for an exciting finish to the competition.

“We are expecting some exciting close touch games and anyone looking for some sports action is welcome to come and watch,” Brown said.

“If this good sunny weather holds out the dry conditions will suit the steppers and the games will be played at pace.”

Brown anticipates the final match between Transformers and Foodland to be a close one.

“The game of the night will be between ICI Transformers and Foodland. It will be interesting to see if ICI Transformers can hold on and finish the Bluesky Mixed Competition unbeaten - or can Team Foodland cause an upset?” she said.

Prizegiving for the men’s, women’s and mixed competition will be held straight after the last game.

“The competition organisers wish all the teams best of luck,” Brown added.
