Touch to hold second muster comp

The Cook Islands Touch Association is inviting interested teams and players to join them for a second muster meet today at Nikao Field.

The opening competition on Monday was not able to draw the desired crowd and the association is hoping for a bigger turnout today.

Cook Islands Touch president Daphne Brown said today’s muster event was open for the mixed, open and social teams.

“This is a chance for the mixed teams to have a game, polish their moves and finalise players for the upcoming season,” she said.

“There are muster games slots still available so any team can come to Nikao Field to get into the draw.”

Brown said the competition was also a good opportunity for players who are preparing for the upcoming league season to work on their fitness.

“There are a number of sports set to start their 2018 season and this muster meet can provide their players with an opportunity to improve on their fitness,” she said.

“I know there are players out there who are interested in taking part in these muster meets. We request them to turn up to Nikao Field and join the teams if they don’t have one.”

Brown said they would run the muster competition for another couple of weeks to ensure teams are fully prepared for the 2018 season.

Teams can contact Brown on 54171 to register and for more details regarding the muster and season competition.

The friendly competition today will start at 5pm.
