The tournament which will be held on Tuesday, December 26 at The Swamp in Avatiu is limited to 16 teams only.
Cook Islands Touch Association president Daphne Brown said the day-long event will be a mixed competition, kicking off at 9.30am with all teams to assemble at 9am. The tournament is open to anyone who wishes to enter a team, whether it be for fun or serious competition. Visitors are eligible to enter, as area returning Cook Islanders.
“It is up to you to make what you want out of the tournament. One thing for sure, teams have a great time, including the referees. The tournament also welcomes anyone wishing to referee on the day,” Brown said.
“This year’s tournament will see family reunion teams coming out to have some fun and family banter.
“In the mix will be your regular hard core touch fans itching to run off the Christmas cheer, past teams coming back to avenge their loss from the previous Boxing Day Touch Tournament, and returning overseas touch players on holiday keen to show some skills.”
