Schools around Rarotonga have kicked off their training sessions with the CIFA technical department staff as they prepare for the senior and junior one-day tournament which will be held in early April.

The programme is a key part of CIFA’s football development in the country which is aimed at developing and inspiring young children to get into the sport, have fun and hone their football skills.

It is also aimed at developing the teachers coaching skills in the sport so that they can be a part of the student’s development and guide them on the field during the tournament.

CIFA development officer, Tahiri Elikana, said. “Each year the tournament gets better and better and we hope to continue that trend this year. We love to see that teachers are also putting in the effort to help develop the children and further their progress. Overall we are excited for the tournament to come.”
