“Together we can, anything is possible, we can achieve, we can be happy and we can live just by respecting each other and the differences we all have.”

This will be the message shared with the children tomorrow at Arorangi School field during this month’s Village Festival from 2.30pm to 3.45pm.

“Getting children to understand we are all different but can all contribute in a team environment is essential to a positive future. Getting boys and girls working together at a young age will set that good foundation,” said Michelle Paiti, competitions manager for Just Play.

“A variety of partners will be on hand to deliver fun activities which will embrace working together.”

Participation is encouraged for all boys and girls aged 5-13 years, and parents are asked to organise their children to stay after school or drop them off to get active and learn in an environment that is safe and fun.

“Any parents or young leaders looking for a good excuse to get outdoors yourself why not come down and volunteer a little time with us for the afternoon.”

Just Play is a sport for social development programme providing an environment where children learn, grow and explore football in a positive and meaningful way.

Through the integration of social messages into all sessions and activities, children learn to develop healthy lifestyle habits, include persons with disabilities, support and encourage gender equality and increase their school and community engagement.
