Premier teams fight for spot in the showdown

Saturday December 08, 2018 Written by Published in Soccer

Anticipation has been building all week for this afternoon’s Knockout Cup semi-final clashes at the CIFA Complex.

All eyes will be on the battle between Tupapa Maraerenga and Puaikura in the men’s division.

Puaikura struggled against Tupapa Maraerenga in the Round Cup Competition and will certainly be looking to avenge their defeats and book their place in the final.

On the other hand, Tupapa Maraerenga will be looking forward to maintaining their supremacy over them.

Conroy Tiputoa, Pekay Edwards and Daniel Taokia will spearhead Puaikura’s campaign. The trio have proven lethal and caused havoc for opposition defenders. No doubt they will ensure that the Tupapa defence is rattled from the get go.

A win over Tupapa would book Puaikura’s spot in the 2018 CIFA Knockout Cup final, where it will face the winner of yesterday’s match between Nikao Sokattak and Titikaveka.

In the senior women’s division, Tupapa Maraerenga is leaving no stone unturned as they go head-to-head with Nikao Sokattak.

It is all or nothing at this stage and winning will undeniably be on their minds from the starting whistle.

Tupapa Maraerenga strikers, Moeroa Harmon and Marissa Iroa will cause problems for their opponents in their Knockout Cup campaign.

Meanwhile Puaikura will be well represented in the under-14 girls and boys divisions. They have been dominant in the Round Cup Competition and will be focused on taking out the Knockout Cup Competition as well.
