Today’s Knock-Out Cup semi-finals at the CIFA Complex promise to be a festival of football for all followers of the game on Rarotonga.

The action kicks off at 4.15pm with the under-8 and U11 mixed teams.

The semi-finals are sure to provide a real spectacle for fans as the remaining teams in the knockout competition try and press for a spot in the finals next week.

In the U8 mixed division, Tupapa Maraerenga is set for a big clash against Avatiu and Nikao Sokattak will be playing against Puaikura.

Simultaneously, the U11 mixed teams will be fielding their games on field one, with Titikaveka taking on Puaikura, whilst Avatiu will battle it out with Matavera for a spot in the CIFA Knockout Cup final.

The U17 men’s semi-finals will also provide an interesting battle between Puaikura and Matavera.

Matavera will need to play to their strengths and be ready to meet the challenges set out for them in today’s match.

Each side are clear as to what they want and players know what it takes to bring home the prestigious CIFA Knockout Cup.

Round Cup champions Tupapa Maraerenga, who are the favourites to go through to the final, will confront Nikao Sokattak.

After coming from behind to defeat Matavera in the Knockout eliminations round, Nikao Sokattak will be hoping to cause a shock defeat.

Nikao also defeated Tupapa Maraerenga in the last round of the Round Cup Competition.

Teams are at their best and players who take the field today will be doing their best to ensure their team and club is represented at the knockout finals next week.

In the event of a draw at full time, a penalty shoot-out will take place to decide the winner. No extra time will be played.
