Mark Leito and Julius David scored the goals that Nikao Sokattak needed for the maximum points.
In a typical start to a Puaikura versus Nikao Sokattak game, the first half was tight. Toru Mateariki took the first shot of the game in the 20th minute that was blocked.
In the 27th minute, Pekay Edwards attempt was saved by Nikao goalkeeper Willie Miria.

A chance for Puaikura from the start of the second half nearly brought the score to 2-1, but Dwayne Tiputoa’s long shot was blocked by the goalkeeper.
Puaikura was awarded a corner in the 50th minute. Teokotai Paio’s corner found the head of Edwards, but his effort went flying over the cross bar.
David added the third and final goal of the game in the 78th minute to seal the 3-0 win. It was Toru Mateariki who delivered the well-placed ball to David, who made no mistake in getting his brace.
In the other Van’s premier men’s match, Tupapa Maraerenga continued its winning form in dominant fashion as they cruised with a 4-1 win over Matavera. Avatiu meant business as they faced Titikaveka, taking home the 6-2 victory.
In the Islander senior women’s division, Puaikura scored two early goals to snatch a 2-1 win over Nikao Sokattak. Tupapa Maraerenga defeated Matavera 3-1 while Avatiu and Titikaveka match ended in a 1-all draw.
