Grover Harmon netted two goals, while Geoffery Strickland and Paavo Mustonen each scored a goal.
Puaikura put on the pressure early in the match as they continuously fired shots at Tupapa Maraerenga’s goalmouth, but were unable to find target.
Tupapa Maraerenga took the lead in the 17th minute when Harmon’s shot from outside the 18-yard box found the back of the net.
The game then opened up, and Conroy Tiputoa for Puaikura missed a wide-open net on a 2-on-1 attack in the 20th minute
Tupapa Maraerenga extended their lead to 2-0, as Strickland beat his defender and slotted the ball into the top right corner.
Grover got his brace and put Tupapa Maraerenga up by 3-0 from a free kick.
Puaikura responded quickly in the second half, with Daniel Tonorio scoring their first and only goal in the 54th minute.
The hosts couldn’t capitalise on their opportunities as Mustonen sealed the 4-1 win for Tupapa Maraerenga in the 81st minute.
In the other Van’s premier men’s matches, Avatiu and Matavera battled to a 1-1 draw while Nikao Sokattak picked up a win against Titikaveka 3-0 on Friday afternoon.
In the Islander senior women’s division, Tupapa Maraerenga now leads the points table after gaining the maximum points against Puaikura 2-0. Titikaveka’s unbeaten run ended on Friday afternoon after the side went down to Nikao Sokattak 1-0.
