After five rounds of games in the Rarotonga Football competition, Nikao Sokattak is leading the Van’s premier men’s division.

Nikao Sokattak made a good start to their title campaign after the Alex Napa-coached side managed to amass 12 points from five matches followed by Tupapa Maraerenga on second with 10 points. Puaikura remains in the title chase on nine points.

From the five matches the side played, Nikao Sokattak has won four and lost one. The side scored 16 goals and conceded eight.

Tupapa Maraerenga managed three wins, a draw and a loss so far in the competition with a goal difference of eight as well.

Puaikura has three wins and two losses and has a goal difference of seven.

Avatiu, Matavera and Titikaveka are placed on five, four and two points respectively.

In the Islander senior women’s division, Tupapa Maraerenga and Titikaveka are both on 11 points, with only the goal difference separating the two teams. Closely behind them is Avatiu on 10 points.

Tupapa Maraerenga has a massive 18 goal difference after conceding only once in the competition, while Titikaveka has a goal difference of 12.

Tupapa Maraerenga has a slight one-point lead over Puaikura in the DJ Gas under-17 men’s competition while Matavera is on third place.

Puaikura are leading the way in the U14 boys and U14 girls division and will no doubt be looking at maintaining their lead throughout the Round Cup Championship.

In the Prime Foods U11 division, Titikaveka maintain their lead on the top of the table with five points separating them from Avatiu who are sitting in second with 10 points.

It’s still a close call in the U8 mixed division with Avatiu and Nikao Sokattak locked on top with 13 points each with only the goal difference separating the two teams, while Tupapa Maraerenga is on third with nine points

Five more rounds of matches will be played in the 2018 Round Cup Championship and the most consistent teams will no doubt hope to maintain their form to pull away and win their divisions.                                                    - CIFA Media
