The 2018 Rarotonga Football Season is set to kick off on Wednesday next week.

Football fans will have plenty to look forward to, with loads of action on the field from the premier men’s, under 17 men’s, under 14 boy’s, senior women’s, under 14 girl’s, under 11 mixed and the under 8 mixed divisions.

“We can now count down until the first game,” says competition manager, Pauline Dean. “That’s when the reigning champions of all divisions will begin their 2018 campaign to retain the silverware.”

The competition will set the scene for the football season and will provide players and teams time to prepare before the kick-off of the first match.

The 2018 Rarotonga Football Season will see clubs play each other three times in a home and away format with one match to be played at the CIFA complex.

The match schedules for Wednesday’s opener have been confirmed. Matches in the U8 Mix, U11 Mix and U17 Men’s divisions will be played at the CIFA complex and Takitumu School grounds.

Thursdays and Fridays are also match days for two clubs who will feature in the U14 boy’s and senior women’s team on Thursday with the U14 girls and premier men’s teams playing on Fridays.

Saturdays will then see the remaining clubs play each other starting off at 12.30pm with the U14 girl’s followed by the U14 boy’s, senior women and premier men’s team.

All the clubs competing in the Round Cup tournament will be hoping to start their campaign with a win.
