Children flocked to Nikao’s school field last Tuesday to participate in Just Play’s End Violence Village Festival.

The village festivals are designed to allow all children to participate in a variety of activities no matter what their abilities or age and to also have a positive experience in sport which will encourage them to be physically active in the future.

During the afternoon children also discussed their thoughts on how to end violence on our island and the different ways they can treat other people so they will be treated the same.

With a lot of knowledge on this topic it is important it is put into practice, says Just Play project manager Michelle Paiti.

“Thank you to all the parents who took up the opportunity to get their kids active and engaging with their peers in a fun environment for their 60-plus minutes of physical activity,” Paiti added.

Cook Islands Football would like to acknowledge the New Zealand and Australian governments, UEFA and UNICEF for their continued support and funding of the Just Play programme.
