Cook Islander Toka Natua has capped off a brilliant 2017 season on a high after being named in the New Zealand Form XV team of the year.

The team selected by Wellington-based writer for allblacks.com, Andy Burt, includes New Zealand rugby union representatives from the All Blacks, Black Ferns, Maori All Blacks and the New Zealand U20 teams.

Black Fern Natua, who spent her Christmas in Aitutaki, was named the prop in the New Zealand Form XV.

“Three tries in a world cup final is an impressive feat, but even more impressive when it is a prop doing the scoring. That’s exactly what Toka Natua did in the 2017 Women’s Rugby World Cup final against England where she crossed for an impressive hat-trick,” Burt said of Natua.

“But it wasn’t just Natua’s devastating ball-running that was influential in the Black Ferns success, Natua was a cornerstone of the Black Ferns impressive scrum and was imposing on defence.”

Some of the top names in the Form XV include luminaries such as Rieko Ioane, Jordie Barrett, Kieran Read, Sam Cane and Sam Whitelock.
