Debut teams seal the deal

More thrilling rippa rugby sevens games were the order of the day at the BCI Stadium on Wednesday night where the difference a week makes was highlighted.

Team BCI Bankaz went from zero to hero in a matter of days beating the mighty Raptorz and narrowly losing to the CITC crew.

New kids on the block and debuting in week two of the competition - CITC and the Police dealt last week’s leaders Raptorz and the Jetz a reality check on how rippa rugby 7s is played.

The men in each team were prolific in breaking the advantage line and seeking out their female counterparts to score the touchdown and rack up the points for their team.

Top try-scorers for the day were national field athlete and local law enforcement officer Tereapii Tapoki and Linade Unuka of Raptorz.

Next week’s games will be held at the BCI Stadium so come along and be a part of the fun and cheer on one of the participating teams.

Results – BCI Bankaz 20 vs Raptorz 10, Police 10 vs ANZ 5, CITC 15 vs Jetz 5, Police 25 vs Raptorz 10, CITC 10 vs BCI Bankaz 5, ANZ 15 vs Jetz 5.
