Five social sevens teams have entered the fun weekly tournament with invitation still open to other teams to take part in this new competition.
The tournament will run for the next four weeks and is aimed at generating greater participation from the community before Cook Islands rugby union stages its Vaka Competition in September.
The competition has been modified to be a cross-field tournament that includes two male players per team.
The competition will kick off with two weeks of the body twist and fast-flowing ripper rugby to ease teams back into the rugby swing of things before normal sevens rugby is played in the final two weeks of the competition.
This is a great way to stay fit this winter and join in the growing sport of women’s rugby sevens.
