Damian and his new bride Karolina Towska spent their honeymoon sailing Aitutaki lagoon and racing the 10 kilometre course of the Aitutaki Marathon event held in March this year.
The couple was part of the 40 strong contingent that raced in Aitutaki this year which featured a short and sharp 10km course, half marathon 21.1km course and a gruelling 42.2km full marathon around the paradise island of Aitutaki.
Sporting his “Pursuit in Paradise” race shirt, which features a map of the island of Aitutaki on the back, Damian attracted some attention while tackling the London Hackney Half Marathon and was sure to tell of his Aitutaki adventures.
Damian shared his Hackney Half Marathon photo to Pursuit in Paradise event organisers Destination Management Cook Islands (DMCK) of Turama Pacific Travel Group.
He writes, “I Just wanted to say hello and share my race photo from London’ Hackney Half Marathon last Sunday. I was proudly wearing my best souvenir from Cook Islands - the Aitutaki Marathon t-shirt. So many people were admiring it and were interested in the islands and in the event.
“Hope I helped to spread the word about this wonderful event in paradise!”
The team at DMCK would like to say, “well done on your race Damian and meitaki atupaka for spreading the magic that is Pursuit in Paradise!”
