The series moves to Papaaroa School, the final location for the relay and individual format races.
The race will begin behind the school buildings on the sports field and will take competitors through a 1.8km course filled with muddy spots and varied terrain, so a fresh pair of shoes to wear home is advised if we receive any further rain.
As in previous races, each relay team is to complete four laps of the course and can consist of either a two-person, three-person or four-person group.
The rule still applies that if you are in either a two or three-person team, no one person is allowed to run laps back to back.
Race organiser Thomas Henderson said expectations are high for a positive finale to the relay.
“The last relay at Papaaroa we had our highest number of teams at 13 and we are expecting another strong turnout,” he said.
“I think racers really saw the benefits of attending the relay event prior to the individual at our last location of Rutaki, with many utilising the prior knowledge of the course to their advantage.”
Henderson said once again the team to watch out for will be Brett, Sherid, Dan and Johannes, who were narrow winners a fortnight ago.
Registration again starts at 4.30pm, with a race briefing at 5pm.
As always, a $1 entry fee applies to those 16 years and under, with a $2 entry fee for those over 16.
