Howard siblings William and Rotana claimed the men’s and women’s titles, respectively, in the Rarotonga Golf Open Championship at the Nikao course over the weekend.

The three-day tournament, which ended on Saturday, saw William finishing on top in the Open A men’s division with a gross of 214.

After trailing on the opening day to youngster Trey Shedlock, who eventually finished a shot behind on second, William fought back to manage a four over par 214 to claim a prize of a max trundler, Rarotonga Golf Club bag, two Sunday night BBQ vouchers at Cocoputt and a dozen golf balls.

Shedlock settled for a hybrid golf bag, a dozen golf balls and a pack of Heineken beer.

With a total gross of 219, James Herman finished in third place, while 2017 winner Kristopher Williamson came in fourth with a gross score of 223.
