Fourth cycle race tonight

Wednesday September 13, 2017 Written by Published in Other Sports

The fourth race in the Bank South Pacific-sponsored cycle race series will be held tonight starting at 5pm in downtown Avarua.

The distance will be 20.66km with a twice out and back course of 5km toward the golf course area where the turnaround will be to take advantage of the better piece of road seal in that direction.

The first three races have all been won by different riders on an across-the-line basis.

The first week saw Russell Hynd take line honours, followed by Adrian Cruz the second week.

None of the back markers have yet managed to cycle up right through the field to take line honours.

Times have generally improved for most riders over the three weeks to date, with net times slightly ahead of their calculated times based on the previous week.

New riders are welcome and thanks go to Bank South Pacific for supporting this interesting competition.
