Although Rarotonga is a beautiful place for a holiday, we are here to play football and to play well.

The club, which has produced several national All White players, is all geared up for their one off match against the Cook Islands selection side today. This was evident at the training session held at the CIFA complex in Matavera on Thursday where they demonstrated exceptional ball skills.

Tony Jamieson, captain of the Cook Islands selection side, commented that the Cook Islands team is also ready to play well.

Although Waitakere United FC is a highly ranked club in the region, the Cook Islands boys are ready.

Yesterday morning the Waitakere United football team paid a visit to the Nukutere College to share their football skills with the students including ball work with individual students and fun games where both the students and Waitakere players enjoyed themselves.

Waitakere management and players presented caps for the students as they finished off their visit to the Nukutere College students.

To kick off todays proceedings, the Cook Islands National womens squad will take on a boys youth selection and are scheduled to kick off at 1pm.

This will be a real test for the players and management to see where they are before heading off to New Caledonia for the Pacific Games next week.
