Undefeated Ngatangiia Matavera Sea Eagles will battle Tupapa Panthers for a place in the domestic rugby league final at the BCI Stadium in Nikao today.

The Sea Eagles finished on top after the preliminary competition while the Panthers, who won the title last year, managed the second spot.

The winner of this match will march through to the final while the loser will still have a chance to make it into the showdown. The (losing) team will take on the winner of the Arorangi Bears versus the Avatiu Eels match which will be held tomorrow.

The Sea Eagles will head into today’s match as the top favourites given their impressive winning record so far in this season.

The team has also bolstered their campaign by including the Terekia brothers Juwaan, Shaiquan and George, who have added depth in the Sea Eagles attack and defence. The trio were impressive against the Bears last week.

The Panthers cannot be underestimated as they have the experience and the quality of players, who can turn

the table around in the crucial stage of the competition such as the playoffs.
