Arorangi Bears have put all doubts about their fairytale run in the local rugby league competition to rest after yet another win.

On Saturday at Raemaru Park, the spirited Bears ousted Avatiu Eels 44-30 in the feature match of Raro Cars Rugby League Competition 2019.

The home team started strongly and continued building onto their momentum to overcome a late surge by the visitors.

The Bears led 24-12 at the end of the opening spell and scored three more tries to claim the important match points.

The side is now undefeated in four matches after earlier overcoming Takuvaine Warriors, Aitutaki Sharks and Titikaveka Bulldogs. They have two tough matches remaining against Ngatangiia Matavera Sea Eagles who are the other undefeated team, and defending champions Tupapa Panthers.

In the other premier matches over the weekend, the Sharks thumped the hapless Warriors 74-6 at the Happy Valley Field on Friday and Panthers won 48-28 against the Bulldogs.
