All seven clubs will compete in this year’s domestic rugby league weekly competition which starts this weekend.

Reigning champions Tupapa Panthers will be hoping to defend their title against the likes of Avatiu Nikao Eels, Takuvaine Warriors, Arorangi Bears, Titikaveka Bulldogs, Ngatangiia/Matavera Sea Eagles and Aitutaki Sharks.

Cook Islands Rugby League Association executives were supposed to meet yesterday to finalise the draws.

The annual Nines tournament last month provided the clubs with the opportunity to prepare for this domestic competition which will run until May.

The competition will be important for Cook Islands Rugby League which will be eyeing players for the national men’s team competing in this year’s Pacific Games in Samoa.
