The kick-off times of the main games in the final round of the domestic rugby league competition this weekend have been brought forward due to limited daylight.

Cook Islands Rugby League Association competition coordinator Taua Benioni said the matches scheduled for tomorrow have been brought forward by 30 minutes, citing limited daylight as the reason for the change.

“The time changes will carry on throughout the remainder of the competition,” Benioni added.

The games affected will be Titikaveka Bulldogs versus the Ngatangiia Matavera Sea Eagles at Teimurimotia, and TKV Warriors hosting the Arorangi Bears at the Happy Valley tomorrow.

According to the new schedule, the premier reserves match will kick off at 2.30pm, while the premier grade clash will begin at 4pm.

However, today’s premier match between the Aitutaki Sharks and Tupapa Panthers will be played at 4.30pm.

Panthers need a win to claim the minor premiership title and head into next week’s preliminary finals as the top seed.

The Sharks, who have proven a tough nut to crack at home, will be hoping to stage a major upset in their final match of the season at Arutanga Park in Aitutaki.
