The Cook Islands Sports Awards 2018 held on Sunday at the Edgewater Resort and Spa was hailed a major success.

The event attended by the members of the local sporting federations as well as invited guests rewarded the athletes and officials for their effort in the 2018 season.

Bowler Taiki Paniani and swimmer Kirstein Fisher-Marsters won the major awards – the Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year, respectively.

However they were not present on the night to pick up their awards.

The Sportsman and the Sportswoman of the Year 2017 Brett Baudinet (tennis player) and Patricia Taea (athletics – sprinter) were the guest speakers at the event.
