The players and touch fans were expecting to catch some exciting close games due to it being the play-offs to secure berths in next week’s grand finale.
First off was ICI Transformers and KAPS and this game lived up to expectation. The game was played at a fast pace with both teams driving well to the five metres to set up for scoring opportunities.
Tries came in a tit-for-tat fashion right up to the final whistle with the game ending at 3-all.
The game went into drop off to determine the winner with both teams given an opportunity for attack and KAPS managed to sneak away with a 4-3 win.
The second game was a vocal and competitive affair between Bluesky and General Transport.
General Transport did not disappoint, showcasing individuals with speed and fancy footwork, however not to be outdone, Bluesky was equal to the task and produced some great plays to post points on the board.
Both teams threw everything at each other but General Transport just had enough to keep them ahead to win 4-3.
Mixed competition leaders 007 pulled out another solid performance over the youthful Team ATT.
O07 boasting too much skill and experience making it difficult for Team ATT’s attack and defence. 007 won 5-2.
The last game of the evening saw Mangaia win comfortably over Airport 6-3.
On Easter Monday, Nikao field is the place to be for more Touch action with the Bluesky men’s finals which sees the young Team ATT take on the Nines Squad at 5pm and Germinators and GAT at 5.35pm in the grand final.
