The five-day programme is aimed at young people aged 13-19 who love athletics.
Coaches and speakers Teaea Parima, Thomas Henderson, Ruth Mave and former Olympians, Patricia Taea and Harmon Harmon are running the programme.
Erin Quirke, president of Athletics Cook Islands said: “Athletics Cook Islands has run informal training sessions over the holidays before. This holiday programme has a new format that includes some short seminar-style presentations that we believe will be fun and informative.”
She said this will include a range of short lectures that will cover nutrition, competition opportunities and preparation, self-management, injury prevention, goal setting.
She added: “The programme also covers physical evaluation tests, specific events and drills, a competition day, event rules, officiating, and understanding equipment.”
She said the aim is learning interactively about how to be a good athlete.
She said 20 children have already registered with 20 spots still available.
It is $20 per person, the programme will run 10am to 1pm Easter Monday April 22 to Friday April 26 and will be held at the CISNOC House.
