Varo Media Country is scheduled to take on Sky Pacific Town in a one-off 50 over match at Turangi Oval tomorrow.
Rain ruined the women’s match between Town and Country on January 20. The clash was postponed to last week, in which the Town caused a major upset winning the low scoring match by three wickets.
Cook Islands Cricket chief executive officer Davis Teinaki is hoping the weather clears up by today.
The organisers are expected to make a final decision on the fixture later today.
According to the weather forecast, the rainy spell is expected to continue today followed by “mostly sunny” weather tomorrow.
The current rainy spell has also hampered the teams’ preparations for this annual competition.
Despite that, they remain optimistic of putting on a good show, should the weather allow them to take the field tomorrow.
Since the start of the series in 2016, Town managed to win the title back-to-back while Country is still hunting for their first series win.
