The Avana women’s and Muri men’s cricket teams will be in action tomorrow with the objective of booking themselves a finals spot.

Wins for Titikaveka men and the Captain Tama sponsored Muri women’s team last weekend has seen them progress through to the men’s and women’s finals respectively.

The Muri men will take on last year’s champions Tupapa.

Both teams have had a solid season.

Fire power in both teams’ means there is no clear favourite heading into their match at Nukupure Park.

The Avana women’s side have had their best ever season and are one victory away from entertaining their first ever finals spot. Standing in their way will either be Arorangi or Tupapa.

According to Rarotonga Cricket Association chairman Hori Miller, the Rarotonga Cricket Association was scheduled to meet with the clubs Thursday evening (last night) to hear a protest lodged between last weekend’s women’s match between Arorangi and Tupapa.

The outcome of that meeting will decide Avana’s opponent.

In the bottom four women’s competition Matavera will head to the Valley to take on Takuvaine.

While in the men’s Bottom four competition Nikao could go top of the table if they can defeat Tupapa 2 at Victoria Park.

Iro Maroro’s Matavera play hosts to Captain Moko’s Avana while Vane Tangimetua’s 4th placed Turangi make the trip up the Valley to square off against Terry Williams Takuvaine.

The women get under way at 12.30pm followed by the men at 3.15pm.
