On behalf of our family, thank you to the staff of Aitutaki Lagoon Private Island Resort and everyone else who has extended kindness and compassion to our dear sister-in-law, Leslie Donison, as she navigates the unthinkable.

For those staff who built a casket for Gary, we can never repay your kindness in honouring our brother for his journey home.

We are all heartbroken and full of questions, but we have been comforted by knowing that Leslie is being helped by the open hearts of Cook Islanders.

I send my deepest condolences to the Donison family. Leslie my heart breaks for you! Gary was a great and smart man. Marc worked with him for a while building barrier boxes and I cleaned up the shop. Marc's dad Phil Bedard was one of Gary's long time friend that's how we met him. MAY YOU REST IN PEACE . Big hugs to the whole family

I didn't know Gary extremely well. He was instrumental in helping us get our new CCTV truck for the City of Regina. What I did know was he was passionate about giving exceptional customer service. He was always willing to help in any way he could. Although I am extremely sad for Leslie and Gary's family I love that he died doing something he was equally passionate about. Gary exemplified living each day to the fullest. My deepest sympathy to Leslie and Gary's family.
